He went back to QLD cup because he was never up to NRL standard. He started out playing a few games for the pathetic Western Suburbs Magpies teams of 1998-99 and disappeared into the QLD cup for the next 5 or so years. Wayne Bennett only used him because they were severely stretched with injuries. Like all sub-par players that fluke an NRL spot for a short while, Perry's career just faded out...
