Is the illuminati/new world order real?

Ive heard that all the most influential, famous and powerful people in the world are illuminati and there is alot of evidence of this. They, along with other people the illuminati think are going to be useful, are going to be in the new world order while the others are killed off by planned wars, famines, 'terrorist attacks', etc. Is this true?
